Desiring to consolidate and develop the instruments of cross-border police cooperation; Whereas to this end it is necessary to adopt, at bilateral level, additional provisions implementing Article 41 of the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement on cross-border hot pursuit, as referred to in paragraph 10 thereof;

The provisions contained in this Agreement apply to cross-border hot pursuit at the common land borders between the Parties, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement, hereinafter referred to as the Convention, and in particular Article 41 thereof.

Cross-border pursuit operations are authorized whenever, after having occurred in the territory of one of the Parties one of the facts provided for in paragraph 4.a of Article 41 of the Convention, the persons presumed involved move to the territory of the other Party, crossing the land borders common to both Parties, provided that the pursuit is carried out in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 1 and 5 of Article 41 of the aforementioned Convention.

Morocco’s decision comes after it tightened control measures for travelers this week, establishing random antigen tests upon arrival in the Maghreb country. Those who test positive in these tests will have to be quarantined if they are Moroccans or residents in Morocco and, if they are not, they will not be allowed to enter the country.

The secretary general of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, Ione Belarra, will participate in an event this Saturday with the former president of Brazil, Lula da Silva, and the former second vice president Pablo Iglesias.

La prensa diaria portuguesa, controlada por la dictadura del Nuevo Estado, jugó un papel propagandístico al servicio de Salazar en favor de la victoria del general Franco en la Guerra Civil española. Mediante la libre decisión o la represión y censura salazarista, los medios lusos adoctrinaron a la opinión pública en contra de la Segunda República Española, a la que acusaron de ser un peón del comunismo internacional y con cuyo gobierno la dictadura salazarista cortó las relaciones diplomáticas poco después del estallido de la guerra. Este trabajo trata de describir y analizar cuál fue la estrategia del salazarismo frente al gobierno republicano español y su reflejo en los principales periódicos portugueses durante los primeros meses del conflicto.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has received this Thursday his Portuguese counterpart, António Costa, in Trujillo (Cáceres) on the occasion of the 32nd bilateral summit, which is held a day after the rejection of the draft budget of the Portuguese Executive that opens the door to early elections.

In spite of the political situation in Portugal, Costa’s government assured Moncloa that it was maintaining the planned summit, in which, among other agreements, a new Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation is to be signed.

The summit will be held under the slogan “For a sustainable mobility” and nine agreements will be signed, the most relevant of them the one which will update the Treaty of Friendship signed in 1977 by the then Presidents of Government of both countries, Adolfo Suarez and Mario Soares.

In this context, one of the highlights of the meeting will be to make progress in joint projects that can be developed thanks to the European funds agreed to facilitate the recovery after the coronavirus pandemic.
