Ani says that it all started when she began to follow foreign Instagram accounts dedicated to healthy eating: «I discovered some accounts from America and I started to investigate and my sister also got the bug… I created an Instagram account without telling anyone. I really liked the idea of being able to eat a cake for breakfast, accustomed to a coffee and leave the house to not get fat. We started as a diary to share our food, to motivate ourselves…then the number of followers increased and you started to work on it a little more…after 2 months we already had 50,000 followers. It’s something very viral…every time someone made one of our recipes, they also said so, and so we multiplied our followers».
The principles are those of the fitness diet,» explains Ani, «it’s about eating wisely. When people think of a healthy diet, they think of baked fish, grilled breast and they are amazed that they can eat foods like bananas or avocado, nuts….
With low-calorie diets the body gets used to live with less and less… people say: «I eat a little more and I get fat», of course, because your body is already used to live with the minimum… One of the things we also explain in the book is how to accelerate the metabolism».

Since the origin of the Internet, health information in general and the world of food in particular have become a vein both in the creation of content and its audience. However, it has been two Valencian sisters, one with a degree in Law and the other with a degree in Tourism, who have reinterpreted this whole scenario through a carefully naive aesthetic, a happy spirit and their own recipe book to spread their message «never diet again» to an audience numbering in the hundreds of thousands of people.
And it is that in the ideology that these two Valencian sisters share from Instagram, where the attention to just one of their posts can be equated to some of the cooking shows on local television, sport is a «fundamental» part of the concept. Even so, they point to a very clear percentage of the weight exerted by food and sport: «80% food, 20% sport, although this has to be part of the daily routine».
The Fit Happy Sisters assure that «we are not doing something right with our diet when there is more cancer, more heart attacks and more ailments than before». However, the greatest contribution is to separate this social problem from a historical concept of «dieting constantly. We have been on many diets, but they have been useless because once the objective has been reached, the body has recovered what was lost because the routines were not healthy».

Ani and Sara are Fit Happy Sisters, two Valencian sisters who have conquered Instagram with their healthy recipes. We took advantage of the launch of their first book to ask them about the keys to a ‘healthy’ lifestyle.
Temptation, out: One of the main tips given by these sisters is not to have harmful foods at hand. One of the first things we say in the book is ‘clean out the pantry,’ they say. ‘If you avoid temptations and don’t have unhealthy foods in sight, you won’t fall into them.’
The ideal breakfast: ‘Some fruit or fat-free yogurt with muesli is the quickest, or something with seeds, oatmeal, nuts…’, they assure. Our sandwich recipe is very quick, even if you have to cook it, and you can eat it along the way.
The ‘cheat meal’, fundamental: for them, having a ‘cheat meal’ (or, in other words, eating whatever we feel like eating regardless of whether it is healthy or not) from time to time is very important. On a mental level, it’s good because it allows you to take care of yourself while knowing that you will be able to indulge in certain treats. Some people even say it helps speed up the metabolism,’ they say.
