Find out the periods of time you have been registered with the Social Security for your work in companies as an employee or self-employed. To do this, you can request your Certificate of Work Life online.
In the Citizens area of the Social Security Electronic Headquarters, you can access the service using your electronic certificate, which is a program that identifies you securely on the Internet, or without an electronic certificate. Si necesitas acudir a un Centro de Atención e Información del Instituto Nacional de la Seguridad Social (CAISS) para tramitar alguna de las pensiones o prestaciones del Sistema (jubilación, invalidez, viudedad, Ingreso Mínimo Vital o nacimiento y cuidado de un hijo, entre otras) es imprescindible acudir con cita previa.
Como hemos dicho, este servicio está disponible tanto en la web como en la Sede Electrónica de la Seguridad Social pinchando en este enlace, donde puedes elegir entre la cita previa para pensiones y otras prestaciones del INSS o los trámites con el Instituto Social de la Marina. Además, podrá consultar o anular la cita y acceder a la plataforma online para trámites sin certificado electrónico, habilitada por el INSS.
A continuación, debes elegir si quieres la primera cita disponible en una oficina del código postal que selecciones, la primera cita disponible en tu provincia o si prefieres elegir tú mismo el centro, día y hora de la cita. Como sistema de verificación, tendremos que responder a una sencilla pregunta de seguridad.
Si usted reside en España, tiene un número de seguridad social español y está cotizando activamente a la Seguridad Social española, debe solicitar el equivalente español de la Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea (TSE).
Si viaja al Reino Unido, o a cualquier otro país europeo, de vacaciones, por negocios o para visitar a familiares y amigos y necesita asistencia médica, la presentación de la misma le dará derecho a recibir asistencia médica, de forma gratuita.
Puede solicitar la tarjeta por Internet https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/Sede_6/ServiciosenLinea/Ciudadanos/232000_6, entrar en el servicio y rellenar los datos, o bien acudir a la oficina de la Seguridad Social más cercana, presentando su Tarjeta Sanitaria Española (SIP) y su pasaporte y le expedirán una Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea.
Ser titular de un pasaporte británico ya no le da derecho a recibir asistencia sanitaria gratuita en el Reino Unido. Si no presenta su Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea puede recibir una factura por cualquier tratamiento médico recibido.
